I don't think people hate them, though, it's just that they clearly aren't as effective as almost anything else.

Dragon's Dogma can be a bit repetitive in parts but it is one of those games that if you stick with it through the tedious parts you come out with some pretty nice moments. It’s got a lot of flaws but frankly none of them matter, because it’s just  so good. The timing is certainly a bit strange, considering that Netflix is working on a Dragon’s Dogma series. Replayability - you can replay this game, time and time again and you will not get tired of it. Each castle you take over, enemies you fight and chimeras you slay will always be satisfying. It doesn't make much sense and it can be improved very easily but dogma lacks a good story. Players awaken in their hometown Cassardis, but will eventually explore the sprawling world of Gransys. Making failed Arisen into Dragons is actually a beautiful system, because it means that the next Arisen to defeat the Dragon will have to be even stronger than the one that reached the Seneschal previously. The combat is superb, and creating your own pawn, tweaking their inclinations, and seeing how they perform in battle is really fun. Dragon's Dogma is an open-world third-person action-RPG in the style of The Witcher 3.

Exodus Slash works as a block, BTW, so use that when fighting hard enemies. There are nine vocations that can be earned and are separated in three groups: Basic vocations of Fighter, Strider and Mage; the Advanced vocations of Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer; and the Hybrid vocations of Mystic Knight, Assassin, Magick Archer. Dragons aren't the people who noped out, Dragons are people that wanted to keep going but couldn't best the Seneschal or were deemed unworthy. However, trading pawns is a big part of Dragon’s Dogma, and going offline robs you of that fun, because it means you only get computer-generated (not player-generated) pawns.

So, I suggest only being a part-time offline player, getting connected again when you want to upload your pawn’s new data, hire new allies, or collect rewards from your pawn's adventures. Dragon's Dogma is an open-world third-person action-RPG in the style of The Witcher 3.

Good? Dragon's Dogma is an exciting and frustrating role-playing game featuring challenging battles versus monstrous foes.
It seems good if you're fighting goblins or something, but against bosses they actually do pretty poor damage when compared to other classes. Yet, Capcom appears to be intent in closing some … They fire at a slower rate than shortbows and reduce mobility, but in return are more powerful with better range.
